Scenic Painting
Course Description:
A practical activity-based and lecture course which specializes in the study of various paint finishes and techniques that are applied to stage scenery. When working on class assignments, students will have the opportunity to experiment with paint, binders, tools and techniques. The techniques covered serve as a foundation for further study and exploration in the art of scene painting. (FAP)
I took Scenic Painting with Professor Roybal in Fall Semester 2017. With his guidance, I learned more about using paint to create visual textures that look real, as well as how to paint large pieces efficiently.
Project 1: Wood Bookcase
Through this project, I learned a lot about how to use highlight and shadow to create the illusion of depth.
