I took this course with Professor Shaw during Fall Semester 2016. This course was very much performance-based. There were no written assignments in this course.
Each week, we were given the task of collaborating with others taking the course and creating something new and original using a random piece of something specific. For example, one week we were assigned a partner with whom we had to create a short piece using pieces of homework from other courses. My partner and I used his course about superheroes and my course about dogs to create a piece about a superhero who was also a dog.

For our final, we were tasked with collaborating as a group of nineteen to create a forty-five minute piece in two weeks. Because it was seemingly impossible to coordinate time for all of us to get together outside of class, I proposed the idea that we split into groups of two to five. Each group created their own piece centered around a cursed object (Frank Sinatra's dress shoes) that was passed from group to group as a transition. We all did really well on this assignment.
